It's the perfect time for outdoor activities—whether you're biking along the scenic trails of Hilton Head Island, strolling through the historic streets of Bluffton, or simply enjoying a peaceful day at the beach.

Music & Taste of the Harbour (Thursdays, September 5 - October 17)

A Hilton Head Island, SC favorite - dance the night away on Thursday nights in the fall at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina featuring local favorite bands, great food and all the dancing you can possibly do.
 
Roots & Rivers Festival (Saturday, September 14)

The Roots and Rivers Festival in Bluffton celebrates the town's cultural heritage and natural beauty. This annual event features live music, local art, food vendors, and activities that connect the community with Bluffton's history and environment. It's a family-friendly gathering that honors the unique character of the Lowcountry and will be held at the Bluffton Oyster Factory Park.
 
Harbour Town Fall Fest (Saturday, September 15)

Enjoy the splendor of Harbour Town – and some great deals – at the Harbour Town Fall Fest. Festivities include a Harbour Town Shops sidewalk sale, local favorite Deas- Guyz performing a mix of music; nautical activities, including watersports, tours and boat rides; dining on the harbour; and children’s activities. The Carolina Dreamers Car Club will have a selection of classic cars on display.
 
Hilton Head Island Jam Songwriter Festival (September 18 - 22)

Welcome back to the 2nd Annual Hilton Head Island Jam, where Nashville's songwriting brilliance meets Hilton Head's charm. Featuring renowned, hit-songwriters and emerging artists, the festival promises an intimate celebration of creativity and camaraderie. Immerse yourself in the stories behind the songs amidst the scenic beauty and Southern hospitality of Hilton Head.
 
Hilton Head Shrimp Festival (Saturday, September 21)

Join us in Harbour Town for this family-friendly event featuring all-you-can-eat shrimp prepared by local chefs, craft beer from more than a dozen breweries, live music, kids' activities, and specialty vendors. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island.
 
BlufftemberFest (Saturday, September 28)

BlufftemberFest will be held at the Bluffton Oyster Factory Park. There will be a Beer Garden, Wine Bar, Hard Cider, Food Court, and Arts & Crafts. Additionally, there will be 6 hours of great live music from three great bands, including The Chiggers, The Rick Nelson Band, and a special guest to be announced.
 
Hilton Head Island Rhythm & Brews (Saturday, September 28)

Get ready to savor the ultimate combination of music and microbrews. The 2nd Annual Rhythm & Brews Festival is returning to Hilton Head Island. Indulge in unlimited tastings of an expertly curated selection of craft beers, spirits, and wines while enjoying live music at 39 Shelter Cove Ln, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. The Lowcountry Fish & Grits Music Festival (Saturday, October 5)

The Fish and Grits Music Festival is a family-friendly one-day event that gives attendees a taste of Gullah Geechee with a mix of international and local musical talent, unique crafts, and indigenous cuisine - not easily accessible outside of the Lowcountry. Fish and Grits Music Festival has become the place where diversity is celebrated, unity is cherished, and the soul of the Lowcountry comes alive!
 
Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival (October 12 - 20)

Bluffton’s historic district will once again host the annual Arts & Seafood Festival, a true celebration of the Lowcountry’s artistic and culinary heritage. Expect to see local artists showcasing their work, delicious seafood from local waters, live music, and family-friendly activities. Don’t miss the Streetfest on October 19-20, where Calhoun Street will be alive with vendors, performers, and food that captures the essence of Bluffton.
 
Kiwanis Club of HHI Chili Cook-Off & Jeep Island (Saturday, October 12)

Entering its 39th year, The Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head Island's Chili Cook-Off & Jeep Island is a Hilton Head Island staple. The event features a chili competition with local chefs and home cooks showcasing their best recipes, while Jeep enthusiasts display their vehicles and participate in fun activities. It's a family-friendly day filled with delicious chili, live music, and Jeep-related fun, all supporting local charities and community initiatives. This year It will be held at Lowcountry Celebration Park.
 
Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Streetfest (October 19 - 20)

Considered the highlight of the Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival, I thought “Streetfest” deserved a second mention! This vibrant event will feature local artists, food vendors, and performers lining the streets of Old Town Bluffton. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore the town, enjoy some great seafood, and support our local artists and craftsmen.
 
Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade (Sunday, November 23)

Mark your calendars for a truly magical evening. The annual Lantern Parade at South Forest Beach is a sight to behold, as participants light up the night with beautiful, handcrafted lanterns. Whether you choose to create your own lantern or simply enjoy the spectacle, it’s a unique celebration of community and creativity.
